Presentation of Kahriman Đana
Born on 16th December 1989 in Dubrovnik Kahriman was seven years old when she started studying violin at Luka Sorkočević Art School in the class of prof. Ivanka Kalanj and is now a student at the Music Academy in Zagreb in the class of prof. Leonid Sorokov.
At only the age of eight she performed as soloist with Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra. She participates at numerous competitions at home and abroad: Students Music and Dancing State Competition ( in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004), “Etudes end Scales” International Competition in Zagreb (in 1998, 1999, 2003), “Verdi Note” International Competition in Rome (in 2001). In 2006 she participated at Wieniawski Competition (Lublin, Poland) and won first awards at “Rudolf Matz” International Competition (Dubrovnik) and at “Beethoven” Competition (Krems, Austria) and also participates in numerous seminars and works with famous volin professors: A. Sešek, A. Meljnjikov, G. Končar, V. Smajlović, C, Mackintosh, G. Zhislin, M. Sorokova, L. Sorokov and Z. Bron. She accomplished performances as a soloist and with orchestras such as:
Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Croatian Television and Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sarajevo Philharmony, Zagreb Soloists, Kaunas Philharmony”s Chamber Orchestra, Dubrovnik City Music, in Croatia and abroad (Italy, Slovenia, Lithuania, France, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Poland and Liechtenstein). She was also engaged in Croatian Television and Radio shows and won the scholarship of “Musik & Jugend” Foundation from Liechtenstein.
In 2008 she has been selected among three best young musicians of Croatia, till the age of 19.
